Floors, rooms and dwellings

Step through every level, read the rooms, furniture, windows and doors, check dimensions and areas, edit a dwelling and view sun hours.

Narrated walkthrough, 58 seconds. Nothing plays until you press play.

Step by step

  1. Open the Floors view. Choose a level from the list or step with the arrows: ground floor, typical floors and basements. The legend explains the colours.
  2. Zoom in to see rooms, furniture, windows (blue) and doors with their swings. Rooms and Furniture switch the detail on and off.
  3. Press Dimensions to check each room's inscribed circle against the minimum rule (green meets it, amber is up to 0.3 m short, red is shorter) and Areas to compare each room with the target areas in Criteria.
  4. Click a dwelling for its room schedule and openings. Drag the white squares (partitions and wet zone), yellow diamonds (width against the neighbour) and blue dots (windows and doors). Edits apply to every typical floor.
  5. Change the dwelling's Use or type from the card; that run of units is re-planned. Reference floor ghosts another level underneath.
  6. Press Sun hours to colour each apartment by its midwinter sunlight.
