Basement parking

Set parking rates and geometry, read the basement levels with ramp, aisles, bays and storage, and compare spaces provided with required.

Narrated walkthrough, 50 seconds. Nothing plays until you press play.

Step by step

  1. In Criteria, open Basement parking. Keep Plan basement parking ticked and set the spaces per unit type, visitor spaces per unit and retail spaces per 100 m².
  2. Set the stall width and length, aisle width, ramp width and length, level height, maximum levels, basement setback and the share of accessible bays.
  3. Choose the Grid alignment (buildings, site or custom) and the Ramp position along frontage. The ramp uses the edge you marked as the frontage in Site.
  4. In Floors, choose a basement level (-1, -2) to see the ramp, aisles, bays, accessible bays and storage cages.
  5. Read Parking in the key figures: provided against required, and the number of basement levels. Lower a rate or change the alignment to see the basement replan.
  6. In 3D, press Basement to show the levels below ground, and Section to cut the model at a level.

Rates and geometry. Parking demand comes from the rates per unit type, for visitors and for retail. Under Basement parking in Criteria, set the bay, aisle and ramp sizes, the level height, the maximum levels, the basement setback and the accessible bays.

Basement levels. Open a basement level in the Floors view. The ramp enters from the street frontage; the aisles, bays, accessible bays in blue and storage cages are laid out to the grid you chose.

Provided versus required. The key figures show the spaces provided against the spaces required. Change a rate or the grid alignment and the basement replans; a level that is not needed is not drawn.

Basement in 3D. In 3D, switch on Basement to see the levels below ground beneath the building, and Section to cut through them.
